Since Fall tends to be busier for most of us than summer, I think we can all use a reminder not to let our schedules get too crazy.

One of the things I try to do in my massage practice is create a space where we can slow down enough to calm the nervous system, reduce stress hormones, and connect with what our bodies might want to tell us, and who we really are.

Please check out this EXCELLENT blog post which reminds us that our fast-paced lifestyle has significant costs.

Our bodies have natural rhythms, and life today constantly pushes us out of these rhythms and beyond our limits.  In order to stay sane and healthy in our society, we must do things to reset ourselves–take breaks, get extra rest, focus on our breathing, practice mindfulness, be in nature, connect to real, live human beings…anything to bring us back to the present moment, our bodies, and ourselves.

Let’s savor this gorgeous late summer weather and stay tuned into the needs of our bodies and minds (at least a little bit of the time…).  Enjoy!
